Warm welcome to my world of handmade jewellery!

I’m thrilled to share my creations with you, each piece lovingly crafted in my workshop, nestled within our garden shed - a space I've transformed into a sanctuary for silversmithing and design. Especially lovely in the spring and summer, when the weather is just right, my shed becomes a place of inspiration and creativity. Not that the weather often stops me - it’s where my passion thrives, whatever the season!

I've always loved making things with my hands, but life took me on a long detour after finishing my BA(Hons) in Silversmithing and Jewellery back in 1996 when I was deeply drawn to old industry with it's moving parts, rust, and cogs. Apart from the odd piece for friends and family over the years, my tools gathered a fair bit of dust. Fast forward to 2022, and I finally decided to reclaim my creative spark - and most of the shed - so here I am, fully immersed in the wonderful chaos of designing and making jewellery.

That same summer, Charlie Anne Jewellery quietly came to life. It began with a cat, a friend, and a name that stuck. “Charlie Anne” was a running joke - a mix-up between me (Anne) and our cat (Charlie) that became a term of endearment. When we lost our lovely friend, the name felt like the perfect fit: a nod to memory, mischief, and the gentle joy of creating.

These days I find inspiration from nature and the way it weaves itself into everything, even reclaiming old, forgotten bits of industry. There’s something magical about seeing rust and greenery coexist. I also have a soft spot for sea glass - it’s like treasure shaped by the sea, often a little uneven allowing it's own quiet character. I’ve been collecting it for years, long before I started selling my work. So while I’ll always share where a piece was found when I can, some of my earlier treasures come with a bit of mystery. These days, I’m much more careful about cataloguing my finds, so future pieces will come with clearer stories. It's good to note that if yours shifts slightly in its setting, that’s not a fault or a flaw. It’s held securely, just gently moving in its own way.

Lately, I’ve been mixing metals, especially silver and copper, and incorporating sea glass. I like the polished-meets-rustic vibe - it’s a bit like life itself, shiny moments wrapped in rough edges.

Each piece I make is a little celebration of individuality. I want my jewellery to feel special, like it was made just for you, even if I didn’t know you when I was making it! Whether it’s the shimmer of silver, the warmth of copper, or the story told by a piece of sea glass, I hope my designs connect with you.

Thanks for popping by and supporting independent makers - it means the world to me. Now, let’s find you something beautiful!
